Nomadic O’Connor
Quick update on this one, a work in progress for a friend of mine. Steo is one of those people who clearly should have been born in a different era, he’s a Celtic Nomad trapped in a modern world, we’ll thats how I see him anyway!.. roaming the landscape in search of the morning game.
I’ll post the final version as soon as I get a minute to finish it.

Some sketching..
I just picked up a new mechanical pencil, finer than I’m used too and its giving me a different feel to mark making, the following concept is the result. I’m doing a bunch of sketching for a world of mine, mainly headgear and some very durable everyday “UV suits”, it’s a very different type of Earth. Pencil’s scanned and colored in Photoshop.

Jetpacks – 1980′s Retrospective (w.i.p.)
A sneak peak (work in progress) of one in a series of images focusing on jetpack technologies, looking back at the 80′s various models (in a reality where jetpacks are as old as the automobile). I’m exploring the fashion and clothing styling that would be worn with this technology if jetpacks were a standard issue everyday item in my world.
More soon, I’m having fun with these!

The Pale Lady
I painted this for a very good friend of mine Madelene, she’s a fashion connoisseur to say the least so a vintage style worked best for this. I painted flat with no layers for this one and just enjoyed sculpting with some basic brushes.Happy holidays Mad, business card sorted!

Here’s the rules:
“The rules this week are simple. This is a self-portrait round, where you will be portraying yourself in costume for the event. Masks are a requirement, but that does not mean you have to wear them – you can be holding them, have them off to the side if you want to show the face as well, etc.
Your costume must somehow reflect you, but how it does this is entirely your choice! Maybe it’s your favourite colour, or incorporates design elements from your favourite season, or animal, or maybe you’re dressing to match your favourite historical period.”

I went in and started to refine line work and figure out body detail/design some more, knees still there just cropped for now, more soon..
Stared on color but am jumping back to line work now…

Final image. I really enjoyed rendering this one up and making some lighting choices as well as restricting my color palette to make certain aspects pop. DAEDELUS – Update
(This is a work in progress for now, about 50% complete)
I’m working on an image for the multi-talented DAEDELUS (Alfred Darlington). He’s an experimental music producer from Los Angeles. He covers a very broad spectrum of music styles and they way he puts it all together is really quite remarkable.
I have many a fond memory over the past year listening to his albums and before you know it you have a soundtrack to your summer, I thought it was fitting to return the favor in some way.

Creature Design
Here is some preliminary work for a creature I’m designing for a Sci-Fi project (time to feed the inner space geek!). It will be a high res 3D piece when I’m done. I’ve been wanting to create a offbeat, technology reliant alien creature for a while now and finally have the time to do so.
Their conscious thinking will depend heavily on integrated technology, almost to the point of their own lose of sanity. They are a highly paranoid species and their mental state and overall visual treatment will be…insane! I’m working on the back story to support it. Just some w.i.p. for now..

HYPATIA – Revisited!
I’m working on a story for a short CG anim that with play Homage to Hypatia of Alexandria. After listening to an old SGU (Podcast #40) I was very inspired by the passion Brian Trent had for his subject matter. I’ve already started on some of the 3D elements for this but here’s some early sketches of two of the characters for now…
